Tanning Out Of The Box: Summer Bliss For Your iPad

Today, we take the opportunity to rally the whole Tactilize community, its 270,000+ users from 155 countries who have downloaded one of the quickest growing iPad application in the world in order to celebrate Tactilize’s 50,000th Card published and shared across the social web.

That’s an amazing milestone for our community and we would like to thank you for being part of it.  And now, let’s start the countdown to an exciting future: in the next 2-3 months we will equip our rocket with new upgrades and fantastic new tools such as:

  • Private Sessions in an EDU-packaged version for teachers and students;
  • Real time analytics to monitor and optimize your promoted Cards;
  • Create and sell "Collections" of Cards , your own self-designed digital magazines with built-in in-app purchase.

Yes, we are /re/ launching the rocket :)

Set Your Summer To Music

Talisco is our newly featured artist. He has chosen Tactilize for the kick-off release of his first E.P. My Home and it’s really good! His music takes on a ride through pop folk and electro slicks and his voice is amazing. Talisco tells us about his own conquest of the West with a six-cord for a gun and electro ammo. Be the first to discover his modern western mixed by Antoine Gaillet (M83).

Featured Cards you may have missed

"To create their pages (or ‘cards,’ as Tactilize likes to call them), users can import images from Facebook, Instagram, Dropbox, Box, Picasa, Flickr and a number of other services (including FTP and WebDAV for advanced users). The in-app editor itself allows you to easily move, resize and rotate images, videos and text fields on the page and with a bit of patience and practice, the resulting pages can be very attractive and look just as good as some of the best iPad magazines. Once your page is done, you can use the app’s Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest integration to spread the word about it (including links to the web versions of your pages).

The Tactilize team expects that users will use the app to “publish a full interactive eBook, create an impressive press kit, or use Tactilize to bring your blog to the next level. (…)”

San Francisco, CA – November 2012: Tactilize, the ground-breaking self-publishing app for iPad, has now launched globally. Previously only available in the United States, Tactilize allows users to quickly create their own content for the iPad featuring their own text, photos and videos.

Tactilize users will also notice new social-functionality within the app, through the addition of the “comment” feature. “Tactilize users can publish in ‘real time’ and share their work with their followers, who are now in turn allowed to comment upon their work. This is another small step in our quest to transform more than 100 million iPad users into their own creative publishers,” explains co-founder and CEO of Tactilize Nicolas Voisin.

Live from TechCrunch Disrupt SF: TACTILIZE official pre-launch!

Tactilize announces the pre-launch of the Tactilize iPad application,
with live demos and username reservations on TechCrunch Disrupt SF 12.

Press release / San Francisco, CA - September 10th, 2012 —

The Tactilize Application will be released in the Apple AppStore on Sept. 20th during Mobilize 2012.

You want to publish and monetize your content on the iPad? Tactilize wants to change that and make it significantly easier for writers, photographers, videographers, small businesses and anybody else who produces interesting content to feature – and monetize – on the iPad.

To do so, Tactilize has developed an easy to use editor for add your content and design your own layout, and an iPad app for displaying it in real time - being the first “iPad content network”, giving creators and iPad owners the ultimate iPad experience. And of course, it’s a free application.

The result ? TechCrunch.com says* (Frederic Lardinois - Sept. 6th 2012) : “With the right design, the Tactilize cards you create generally look better than most iPad magazines. The experience in the app is also more fluid and intuitive than in similar iPad content apps.”

Co-Founder and COO Valentin Squirelo reflects: “We were fed up with being mere spectators on the iPad, fed up with reading web pages that were poorly adapted to the iPad screen, and fed up with not having a way to easily monetize content on the iPad. Tactilize wants to disrupt that.”

Co-founder and CEO Nicolas Voisin states: “Tactilize is the solution that allows anyone to deliver any content straight to iPad owners in a dedicated interactive format. And there is no specific technical knowledge to have to use it. It’s a new frontier for creation.”

So check it out ! Come and book your username on Tactilize.com and meet with our team on the start-up alley at TechCrunch Disrupt.

Creativity at your Fingertips

On a Friday night in June, the 21st to be exact, we decided to offer you the chance to fully enter into the age of instant publishing on iPad, easily sharable, and free. We had been developing a tool accessible to everyone for more than 9 months. So why must we limit its use with a selective price?

Thanks to Tactilize you’ll soon be able to create your own interactive pages – made up of texts, images, video, sounds and buttons – on the iPad, for free. You no longer have to choose between photography, video, audio or text. All are available. We offer you 3,145,728 pixels to instantly express your creativity. More than in reality!

To sum up: Tactilize is a free iPad application, which will be available in the AppStore beginning in August, 2012 (in private beta). Tactilize allows discovering, sharing, buying, publishing, and selling all forms of editorial multimedia content (music, video, etc.) or any creative content, directly on the iPad, in a dedicated format offering an optimal experience.

Organized in pages (“cards”) and freely arrange in “collections” (groupings of cards), your works will be available to all Tactilize users, and shareable on the web (Twitter, Facebook, email, etc.)

Tactilze responds the three strong needs:

  • An immersive navigation experience specifically designed for iPad.

Tactilize offers a navigation experience that is truly “native,” fluid, and developed specifically for iPad. It is a response to the “post-url” world, and to new “tactile” online navigation forms that do not rely only on clicking or scrolling, and which iPad users are fond of.

  • A multiplication of cultural content in an enriched format.

In terms of cultural content, the AppStore offerings remain despairingly limited. However, the screen quality, reading comfort and optimal navigation experience that iPad offers are particularly adapted to cultural consumption. Tactilize paves the way for all content creators or holders to easily distribute their creations and materials to targeted iPad audiences, without any specialized technical knowledge, in a native format.

  • A new way to share and to distribute quality content.

Tactilize allows any creator to publish his or her content and to share it, within the app, with all friends, without limits. And of course, you can also share your pages and collections on social networks (Facebook, Twitter, etc.). Instantly. Freely.

For professional needs, Tactilize enables artists as well as publishing and media professionals (books, music, cinema, press, TV, etc.) to interact with their public and then to commercialize their works as well as the ensemble of their content (special editions, photo-reports, video-concerts, filmographies, etc.) with Apple “in-app” purchases. Over 450 million accounts with pre-registered credit cards are already in the Apple ecosystem and 67 million households are equipped with the iPad, with an average expenditure of $16 to $20/month per user.

So that’s it. You know, our team created Tactilize because we were fed-up with simply being spectators on the iPad, fed-up with reading mostly web pages that were poorly adapted to the screen, and fed-up with not having solution to simply monetize the beautiful content we all deliver. So if you share this feeling, welcome to the new iPad content Network. Welcome to Tactilize.
